Things I loved about my day:
I had vanilla almond french press coffee.
I was finally able to wake up and see my stuff organized neatly around me instead of thrown everywhere.
I finished watching the PBS version of Emma. Since I haven't watched any version of Emma since I was like 12 I didn't remember the story anymore and was kept in suspense. It was splendid.
I cut pretty pictures out of magazines.
I went swimming with my nieces and nephew and got to see Audrey (5) help Eden (2 1/2) swim to the stairs about 50 times and neither of them got tired of it. It was very cute.
I got to hold my baby nephew Liam (9 months) as he slept.
I baked a new recipe for cookies and they turned out tasty.
I watched Dear John and really liked it. Apparently I have been starved of sappy love stories and Channing Tatum over the past few months because I liked it much more than I was expecting to. I feel very at peace and have loved my time at home.
So basically thats the run down of my whole day. But it was so great. 4 more days till camp!

i suppose i'll start with a recipe

I don't know if this is allowed but I am going to blog about a recipe that I have not made yet. I am really excited about it. I like to bake (for those of you who do not know, which probably isn't many because I shove cookies in people's faces frequently). What can I say? I was born with it. Its in my DNA. I have grown up making my specialty Banana Surprise (Which is a very uncomplicated recipe. Its mushed up bananas and orange juice that I mixed up and put in the freezer. Two ingredients and yet I seemed to think it was necessary to call it Banana Surprise. There were no surprises people. I'm sorry. I was quite proud of my concoction though. At least it was edible. Unlike the mixtures that I used to make out of flowers and leaves and other things from my mom's garden that slightly resembled food.)
Anyways, back to the present day, my dear friend Carrie, who will be getting married this coming New Years Eve (Yikes! My forever best friend is getting married?!?!? Is that even allowed!?!?) Really though, I am very happy for them both! I can't wait. Carrie is brave enough to allow me to make a few cupcakes for her wedding! I am very excited. And even if she changes her mind, I will still be grateful for the smidgen of time I was able to spend at work browsing at cupcake designs, recipes, and decorations. I mean...I would never...Okay I did, but not for long. I did work too I promise!
I really did enjoy researching and exploring. But THIS is what I found. And if I know my best friend at all I think she will enjoy it. As long as they taste as good as they look! Here it is: Peanut Butter Cupcakes with a Chocolate Ganache Filling and Rich Chocolate Frosting. I like the looks of it. That's for sure. Oh and just so I don't sound snooty, ganache is a fancy way of saying, "I took chocolate and mixed it with heavy cream to make a silky smooth, heavenly elixir to spread on things and fill things with." Don't let the fancy words fool you. It is not very difficult.
At some later date, I'll let you know how the taste test goes. And those of you from IWU...you better believe I will be shoving cupcakes of all sorts in your face all fall semester. 1) Because I do NOT want to go into this unprepared. 2) Because if I eat all of the cupcakes by myself I will not fit into my bridesmaids dress for the wedding! Which would make me a very BAD bridesmaid! 3) Its for your own good. Cupcakes are tasty!
